Even you can create mockups for iPad, can scale the same document for the iPhone by using its scaling feature, thus you can save lots of time and efforts. You can use preferences tab of Photoshop to adjust the display of your UI elements to be fit for retina display since for retina display you have to use Guide, Grid and Slices setting to set Gridline every 20px with subdivisions at 2 so 2px line will display 1 point on the screen.

If you are not in a mood to create mockups for your iOS development from the scratch, you have to take help of readymade templates where all essential UI elements for iPhone app development and iPad app development have placed in PSD files ready play in Photoshop. Of course, don’t try them to resize as they are set to default standard sizes and can disturb the all work. With your designing skill you can create prototypes on Photoshop and can win the hearts of you patrons as well as make your life bit easier.
